About us
Dar Makka El-Mokarama for Printing and Publishing Founded in 1979 by Mr. Mohammed Agamy, who has accumulated extensive experience in the printing industry since 1969. Dar makka inaugurated its business through a five-employee team, depending on the technical department. In 1983, the first machine was introduced for the printing department, and the «Suprasetter 106» machine for the technical department. During the following years, a considerable number of German Miller machines were acquired. By the start of the third millennium, Dar Makka witnessed major expansions and a comprehensive change at all levels of operations including expansion to 9000 m2, with a work force of 200 of highly qualified and experienced staff.
In 2006 Dar Makka replaced the Miller printing machines with the German Heidelberg machines and added the Spanish Iberica machines to the diecutting section and the Italian Vega machines to the folding& gluing section to reach annual production capacity of 600 million boxes. In 2010, the printing house secured a license to print the first hand-drawn Qur’an, which was then printed under the house’s name. In 2023, a significant breakthrough occurred with substantial investments in state-of-the-art international machinery: the German «KBA Rapida 106 7 ALV3 SIS CX» for the printing department, American «Kodak Trendsetter» machines for prepress, and «KBA Duran Allpro» machines for the post-printing department. As a result, the printing house was able to uphold its leading position, attributing its success to the grace of God Almighty.
